What first pulled you toward Ayurveda, and what made you trust it?

Growing up in India, Ayurveda was a part of my life from early on. It was not a one-time solution but a way of life. Growing up and traveling around the world brought an imbalance in my body rhythm. What was once a way of living a life took the form of a detox, cleanse, or ritual.

When I decided to grow my family and started preparing my body for conception, I turned to my roots and started incorporating Ayurvedic wisdom into my everyday life. My pregnancy and my delivery were both a breeze, thanks to all the natural support and practices I followed. The trust was always there, but the ultimate surrender only happened after realizing how privileged I was to grow up in a culture with such vast knowledge.

What’s a wellness trend you ignore, and what do you do instead?

The wellness trend of special diets like keto, gluten-free, vegan, all-smoothie, or any harsh dieting culture is something I have started not relating to. What I do instead is listen to my body and eat as per its needs.

What’s your “rule #1” for a healthy lifestyle—if you had to pick just one?

Move your body constantly and nourish it with clean simple meals.
